We have several WIFI networks at WISS.


There are two networks for WISS-owned computers: WISS-EQPT (for Windows devices) and WISS-Apple (for Apple devices). Your WISS-issued device should connect to these automatically and you should not change the WIFI.


For those using their personal (non-WISS-Issued equipment), there are three WIFI networks to choose from. Please make sure to choose the correct WIFI:


Note that while WISS wifi covers 100% of our building interiors, Wifi is not available on the campus grounds outside of the buildings.


WISS-Guest

If you do not have a wiss.cn account then you should use the WISS-Guest wifi:


When you select the WISS-Guest wifi you are taken to a login page:



If you have NOT already registered for the Wi-Fi:

 Select the 'Don't have an account?' link: 


That will take you to the new-user registration page where you create your wifi account. Fill-in your details and click Register. 

NOTE: You can leave the phone number blank if you don't have one:


A page will appear showing your newly registered account details. 

Store these details safely (easiest way is to take a screenshot). You will need them to login. 

Once you have recorded these details, press Sign On:


Use your new details to Sign On:


Guests have to register only once, but have to login every day they want to use the WISS-Guest wifi.



If you have already registered for the Wi-Fi:


Sign on with the username and password you registered with:





WISS-Staff

If you are WISS Staff, have a wiss.cn account and wish to connect to the WIFI with YOUR PERSONAL DEVICE (NOT a WISS-owned device) then you should use the WISS-Staff wifi. You will be prompted to enter your WISS login details in the page that pops up. You will only need to do this only ONCE PER Device. You can have 1 PERSONAL DEVICE connected at a timeIf you have a personal device already connected, but you want to use an alternate device, you should disconnect the first device from the network before attempting to connect the alternate device. You can do that on the first device either by switching off its wifi or by 'forgetting' the 'WISS-Staff' network.



WISS-Student

If you are a WISS Student, have a wiss.cn account and wish to connect to the WIFI with YOUR PERSONAL DEVICE (NOT a WISS-owned device) then you should use the WISS-Student wifi. You will be prompted to enter your WISS login details in the page that pops up. You will need to do this daily. You can have 1 PERSONAL DEVICE connected at a timeIf you have a personal device already connected, but you want to use an alternate device, you should disconnect the first device from the network before attempting to connect the alternate device. You can do that on the first device either by switching off its wifi or by 'forgetting' the 'WISS-Student' network.



Common Issues and How to Resolve Them

One of the primary issues is that users have not reset their password. Please use a WISS windows computer to reset your WISS password if you are experiencing issues using the wifi.


The other main issue is the use of VPNs. These greatly affect the wifi and can prevent you from connecting. Please ensure your vpn app is off and completely exited.
