Opening / Adding the Shared Calendar

  • Open a web browser and go to o365.wiss.cn. Login with your wiss account details
  • From the dashboard, go to Outlook (for the Web)
  • In Outlook, click on the left icon to go to Outlook Calendar
  • In the LEft-hand-side panel under the quick date selector, choose Add calendar :


Click Add from directory on the left:

In the 'add from directory' dropdown, choose your own WISS email account:


As you type in the 'enter a name or email address text field suggestions will appear. You can either choose a suggestion from the list or type your full email address:



In this example, we will be adding a calendar called WISS Calendar for Staff, but you can substitute this name for whichever WISS calendar you want to open and use.


Start typing WISS Calendar for Staff.  You will see appear the calendar name appear in the search results. Click on the name to select it. You will now see the 'Add to' option appear. There you can select which category you want to put your new calendar in - it will appear in that category on the left-hand-side panel



You can now see the newly added calendar has appeared under my choosen category (People' calendars) on the left-hand-side panel. You can toggle the view on and off by ticking and unticking the blue radio button to the left of the calendar name:




Using the Shared Calendar (for those with editing rights)

Not all users have editing or viewing permissions to all calendars. If you cannot edit or view a calendar it means you have no permissions. If you think this is an error please contact techsupport@wiss.cn for assistance. If you have editing permissions then follow the guide here. Otherwise, if you have read-only access to this calendar you may only view the information but not edit it.


To create a new event that you want to be shown on the shared calendar, first select YOUR OWN calendar in the left-hand-side panel (NOT the shared calendar), then from the menu ribbon, select  New event




In the dialogue box enter the event details then in the Invite attendees section type WISS Calendar for Staff then click on it when it pops up to that calendar to the event




In the Attendees section, you will see that calendar is now added to the event 



When you have finished entering all the other event details, click Send. If your booking was successful you will receive a confirmation email and you will find the event in your own calendar and in the WISS Calendar for Staff. To make any edits simply open the event from your own calendar, press Edit, make your changes then press Send again to update the event. To cancel the event, open the event on your own calendar and click Cancel.
