When you UNLINK your computer from OneDrive it causes all the local OneDrive documents to sync to the cloud before unlinking your computer from your OneDrive Cloud
In Windows OS the OneDrive icon is in the bottom right taskbar. In Mac OS the icon is in the top right menubar. Click the OneDrive icon then hit the cog ('Settings') icon:
In Settings, select the ‘Account’ tab then click 'UNLINK THIS PC':
